Heavy rain has recently stopped play even on our wonderfully well-drained courts. But on the gloomiest days, there’s usually something to make our members smile!

Congratulations to our worthy winners of the Middlesex Over 55s Summer Tournament who recently received their award. Our 1^st team chalked up the highest number of points through a series of mens, ladies and mixed doubles matches played at home and away.

Look out for them again in 2026!

Some of GTC’s female members recently swapped their tennis racquets for snooker cues as our great new coach, Dave Harwood, guided them through the basics, ready for a few competitive frames.

“It was such a great vibe and really reminded me why I love doing this – it’s all about learning, sharing and growing together. Can’t wait to catch up again soon,” said Dave.

In 2024, the Club’s Snooker Room had a major refurb, and the 2 full-size snooker tables are maintained in excellent condition. All ages and skills are welcome, with good-value subscriptions including special senior citizen, junior and off-peak rates.

With the evenings drawing in, some of our members recently took to the games tables in our well stocked Bar and Lounge for a fun-filled mix of classic favourites and novel board games. There was plenty of laughter, strategy, and friendly competition though standard tennis scoring didn’t seem to quite work!

Once again, there were lots of great matches on Summer Finals Day, including some tense three-setters. Congratulations to all our winners and runners up and huge thanks to our brilliant organisers!

GTC was at the heart of the action at the truly memorable Gunnersbury Park Garden Estate Centenary Celebrations! The dog show was a barking winner and Mayor of Hounslow, Amy Croft, brought a touch of class to table tennis. There was delicious food, and glasses were never empty thanks to our brilliant bar staff!

Four heat waves haven’t deterred GTC members from making the most of our six fantastic all-weather courts this Summer. As well as regular social play, there’ve been monthly American Tournaments – round robin doubles competitions with rotating partners. By popular demand, the Summer of 25 has also seen the introduction of Adult Tennis Camps (with pizza!) in addition to the usual Junior Tennis Camps.

And it’s not over yet. The last rounds of the Summer Championships are being played out, with Finals Day on September 27.
